Education

What is education, and why do we need it? Who decides the nature of education, and how do they make these decisions? On social media, everyone is eager to share their criticisms of our education system, but in reality, few people take action to address these issues. In India, particularly in the Telugu states, businessmen often dictate which college students should attend and which courses they should pursue. They have turned the education market into a trendy business. These businessmen decide that the future lies only in Engineering or Medicine; they suggest that without one of these two career paths, one's life is insignificant. They decide that only these two professions hold value in society.

Later, they declared that Biotechnology was the future, causing one of my friends to lose his way. He pursued Biotechnology, only to find himself directionless afterward. Following this, they started promoting Chartered Accountancy (CA) as the future. Recently, they have been hyping AI technology, but does anyone truly understand what AI is or what kinds of jobs it will create?

Businesspeople often convince us that we need to invest in education and turn our children into corporate laborers. They continually introduce the latest courses and subjects, but are our colleges equipped to teach these new courses? Do they have qualified faculty? We seldom think about these questions.

Instead, we focus on preparing our children to become corporate laborers, following the prevailing trends without questioning the underlying assumptions. This is the way we currently think.

Why do we need to go abroad, and what should we study there? Is there truly nothing worthwhile here, or are our parents wasting money by investing in foreign education? Our children end up becoming corporate laborers. The job market primarily offers software jobs, but we have multiple opportunities beyond this. We need to think differently and focus on fields that are not affected by AI. At least, we need to inquire about education without falling into these businessmen's traps.
